Based on recent events, the coaches felt it necessary to provide guidance for players/parents who are identified as swing. Swing players have been identified as those showing exceptional skills and have the ability to contribute to the varsity squad this year. It is a privilege to play varsity and parents and players should be proud of this accomplishment. Further, we understand players/parents have other commitments that may conflict with their ability to play a certain JV game on Tuesday nights. However, a swing player’s first commitment is to the JV1 team.
The following are guidelines that swing players should follow:
It is the coaches preference to have swing players participate in both the Monday (Varsity) and Tuesday (JV) night games. However, we understand club practices and other activities may cause scheduling conflicts for families.
Scheduling conflicts should be communicated with the Varsity and JV1 coach at practice the week before the game. Coaches will decide which game (Varsity or JV) the player will attend. The default position is for the player to attend the JV1 game.
Efforts to show up for part of the game are sincerely appreciated.
Not showing up or contacting coaches the day of the game is unacceptable. The team depends on you.
Finally, all swing players should plan to attend the JV1 games against the following teams: Ozark, Cherokee, Willard. Please communicate with Coach Cliff if this impacts Varsity participation. We will move others up as needed. Thank you.

Message for Coach Steve ….
To all JV Red players and parents who were at last night’s game … wanted to let you know how proud I was of all the boys who played in the 7:30, JV Red game last night. We were short on players so a LOT was asked of every boy out there on the field. Some LONG runs were made by the boys after they had been running for 10, 20 or 30 solid minutes. They did everything we asked them to do and more, and all showed tremendous heart and tenacity. We talked after the game about how we created our opportunities to win throughout the game and just needed to angle our shots a little better past the keeper instead of shooting right into his hands. We will be working on that today at practice. The goals will come if we keep generating the chances. Thanks to the JV Black team boys who stayed to help out after playing an entire game at 6:00.
See you on the field! Coach Steve
We practice today (Wednesday, September 22) on LCS Field 6 at 4:25 to 6 p.m.
