September 29th, 2011 — Boys Soccer
Pershing Boys Soccer team ran into a more physical and hungry Nixa squad that handed the Generals their first loss of the season 2-3. Pershing found themselves down early with Nixa leading 2-0 at half. Pershing scored next early in the second period. However, Nixa responded immediately with their third and decisive score. Pershing pressed late in the game scoring their second goal. Pershing’s record falls to 4-1 heading into the last two games of the regular season. Nathan Lantz (#99) and Jack Johnson (#24) scored goals for Pershing. Eli Wells (#28) was credited with the assist to Lantz.
Pershing’s next game against Ozark is Monday, October 10 at 6 p.m.
September 29th, 2011 — Boys Soccer
Pershing JV1 Red defeated Greenwood Sunday 3-0.
On Tuesday, JV1 Red moved their record to 4-0-1, with a solid win against Jarrett. JV1 Black fell to Nixa 3-5. JV1 Black record is 2-3 on the season. For JV1 Red against Jarrett, goals by Josh Carlson, Wynston Barker, Nathan Howard, Sean Perryman, Pete Richardson, Greg Grogan, and Thomas Spence. Pete, Thomas, Greg, and Josh (2), along with Aaron Guilliams were credited with an assist. We are proud of the boys and the way they have represented Pershing. Keep of the good work!
September 26th, 2011 — Boys Soccer
The Pershing Boys’ soccer team (4-0) stayed unbeaten this season with a 4-0 victory over rival Catholic. The boys had several opportunities early, but did not capitalized. However, the Generals led 3-0 at half. Nathan Lantz (#99) scored two (2) goals, along with Sean Perryman (#2) in the first half of play. Nick Moore (#10), Bobby Spence (#26), and Lantz were each credited with an assist. Josh Call (#17) scored the lone goal in the second half from a well place ball by teammate Jack Johnson (#24).
Reminder: Pershing plays Nixa this Thursday, September 29 at 7:30 p.m. Please have players there at 7 p.m. We will practice Wednesday beginning at 4:30 at LCS East fields.

Due to recent rains and field conditions, LCS rescheduled the Pershing JV1 Red soccer game against Greenwood tonight to Sunday, September 25 at 2:30 p.m on Field 8. Please contact Coach Guilliams or Daniel Hedrick if your son is unable to attend. Thank you.
September 21st, 2011 — Boys Soccer
JV1 Red game against Carver ended in a 1-1 draw. JV1 Red record stands at 2-0-1. Remember JV1 Red plays against Greenwood Thursday, 9/22 at 7:30 p.m. on Field 15. Please contact Coach Guilliams or Daniel Hedrick if your son is unable to play. Thank you.
JV1 Black in what spectators describe as “the Miracle comeback” defeated Catholic Green 5-4. The JV1 Black team record is now 2-2 on the season. Again, another great win for Pershing.
Practice tonight on LCS East fields starting at 4:30 p.m. Practice is scheduled to end at 6:15 p.m.

September 19th, 2011 — Boys Soccer
Over the previous three Middle School seasons, Pershing boys soccer teams never defeated Cherokee – until tonight. Lead by Bobby Spence’s (#26) 3 goals – one unassisted, the Pershing Generals defeated Cherokee 5-1. The Generals remain undefeated for the season at 3-0. Nick Moore (#10) and Nathan Lantz (#99) added the remaining goals. Moore, Lantz, Josh Call (#19), and Eli Wells (#28) were each credited with an assist. Pershing led at halftime (3-0). Cherokee’s lone goal was late in the second half after Pershing added goals 4 and 5. It was a great win, a signature win for these boys. Great job, Pershing!
Pershing plays Catholic next week (9/26) at 6 p.m. Please arrive 25 minutes before game time. Practice Wed, 9/21 4:30 p.m. in preparation for Catholic. Catholic remained undefeated tonight with a 3-1 victory over Nixa.

September 15th, 2011 — Boys Soccer
JV1 Black (1-2) defeated Jarrett 2-1 on Tuesday night in a weather shorten game. Montana Dearman scored on an assist from Clay Compere. Mason McDonald scored the other goal. His brother Logan was credited with the assist. Great job, Pershing!
JV1 Red game against Greenwood was cancelled and rescheduled for Friday, 9/16 at 7:30 pm. The game will be played on Cooper Field 1. Please contact Coach Guilliams or Daniel Hedrick if your son is unable to make the game.
September 12th, 2011 — Boys Soccer
Pershing Boys’ Soccer Team (2-0) completed a stellar performance tonight with a win against the Ozark Tigers. The Generals outscored Ozark 14-0. Pershing put together a balanced attack led by midfielder Nick Moore’s (#10) four (4) goals. Nicholas Lantz (#00), Jack Johnson (#24), and Bobby Spence (#26) each scored 2 goals. Nathan Lantz (#99), Chase Gafner (#21), Louis Brown (#25), and Thomas Burkhardt (#12) scored goals for the Generals. Josh Call’s (#19) unselfish play assisted in 3 of the goal scoring opportunities. Sam Holmes (#22), Nathan Lantz, Spence, and Burkhardt were also credited with assists. Great job, Pershing!
Reminder: Pershing practices on Wednesday 4:30-6:15 pm. We will be preparing for Cherokee this week. All boys are expected to be there in preparation for this important match. Pershing plays Cherokee Monday, September 19 at 7:30.
